Businesses selling food must ensure that waste does not create pollution, odour, or attract vermin. Others may be concerned to ensure public safety e.g. electrical retailers etc. All will be looking to maximise the space available to display and sell goods.
This is a challenge given that most businesses will have limited space for storage of dry recyclables (packaging, pallets etc) and residual waste (uncooked and cooked food, etc).
